Averitt Named Among Industry's Quest For Quality Award Winners

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2011) — For the 27th time, Averitt Express was recognized by Logistics Management magazine readers as a leading transportation solutions provider, earning Quest for Quality Awards in two categories.

The Quest for Quality Awards program is regarded in the transportation and logistics industry as one of the most important measures of customer satisfaction and performance excellence. Service providers were graded by customers in on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment and maintenance.

“Being recognized by our customers is a testimony of their appreciation for our ability to meet their supply chain needs and provide them with industry-leading service and value,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt’s president and CEO. “We’re very honored and humbled to be named Quest for Quality Award winners again this year. And we are eager to continue delivering on our commitment to our customers in order to provide them with best-in-class solutions.”

According to 4,575 survey responses, shippers gave Averitt high marks in both the South/South Central Regional Less-than-Truckload and Expedited categories. In fact, Averitt outpaced all other Southern LTL carriers in the equipment and maintenance criteria, while earning above-average marks in four out of the five grading criteria in both the Regional LTL and Expedited categories. Since the program began in 1984, no other carrier in the South has earned more Quest for Quality Awards than Averitt.

Readers of Logistics Management also heaped praise on another carrier in The Reliance Network, the partnership of regional carriers that provides seamless service across North America, of which Averitt is also a partner. Pennsylvania-based Pitt Ohio ranked among the best Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional LTL providers, leading that category in the value criteria.
